Oral Surgery Innisfil

We Perform Oral Surgery in Our Comfortable Innisfil Dental Office

Tooth Extraction

We offer tooth extractions to address various dental issues that may arise. In cases of severe decay or when a tooth is compromised by an infection, extraction may be the necessary course of action to safeguard your overall oral health.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

The removal of wisdom teeth is necessary due to impaction or misalignment. These third molars typically emerge in late adolescence or early adulthood, frequently causing discomfort and complications.

Dental Implants

Dental implant surgery involves surgically attaching a titanium post to your jawbone after making a small incision in your gums. While we don’t perform this procedure in our office, we will refer you to an implant specialist and then see you back in our office for crown placement; an artificial tooth that will be attached to the post and look and feel just like a natural tooth.

Our Dentist May Recommend Oral Surgery for Various Reasons

Oral Surgery Can Help Improve Your Smile

Oral surgery may be necessary for various reasons, including the extraction of impacted teeth, correction of jaw alignment issues, treatment of oral diseases, and the placement of dental implants. In cases of severe dental decay or injury, oral surgery can facilitate the removal of damaged tissue and the restoration of oral health. Additionally, oral surgery may also be indicated for treating tumours or cysts in the mouth, as well as for reconstructive procedures following trauma or disease. Regardless of the reason, our team is here to ensure you remain comfortable during your procedure. For oral surgeries required outside of our office, we’ll refer you to our most trusted partners around Innisfil.

Promote Faster Healing Following Your Procedure

Always Follow Our Aftercare Instructions

Bite on Gauze

Keep the gauze pad placed over the extraction site for about 30–45 minutes to help form a blood clot. If bleeding persists, replace the gauze and continue biting down gently.

Rest and Relaxation

Avoid physical activity for the first 24 hours. Resting helps your body focus on healing. You should also avoid heavy lifting or vigorous exercise for at least 3-4 days following your surgical procedure.

Rinse With Warm Salt Water

After the first day, rinse gently with warm salt water 2-3 times a day, especially after a meal. Do not rinse vigorously as this can displace the blood clot.

Cold Compress

To reduce swelling, apply an ice pack to the outside of your cheek in 15-minute intervals. You can also take over-the-counter medications to reduce discomfort if you haven’t been prescribed a pain reliever by the dentist.

Brush Carefully

It is very easy to maintain and care for your dentures. Daily cleaning typically involves brushing them with a soft toothbrush and soaking them in a denture cleaner. This straightforward routine helps keep dentures fresh, clean, and comfortable for everyday wear.

Soft Foods Only

Stick to soft, cool foods such as yogurt, applesauce, mashed potatoes, or soup (let it cool before eating.) Gradually reintroduce solid foods as you heal.
